Where Waterview Street Begins
Do you see the pretty lady in front of the water? Yes; that's right! That's your mommy when she came to visit Grandpa David and Leona on the island of Taiwan 5 years before you were born. The name of the water is Han River.
At the top of Waterview Street, there is a view of that water. It is where Waterview Street starts. You can see our street over Mommy's head where the river bends at the top of this photo but you have to look carefully. In the picture below you can see the building Mommy was standing on behind the trees on the right. Can you see it?
The water is in a river called Han River. In this picture, the workers almost stopped the river to build the bridge, but now the river is okay. If we walk two blocks up Waterview Street from Renoir Castle, we can view the water; that is why it is called "water-view" street. Ha-ha!!!
The view of the water at the top of Waterview Street changed 2 years ago when our city of Taichung built 2 bridges across the Han River; now cars, and bicycles can come to Renoir Castle across the river. Before, people had to swim across the river and got wet. Do you want to swim across the river when you come to visit us? I don't think so. Now you can walk across the bicycle bridge or maybe Grandpa David can drive you across the car bridge.
When you come to visit us in Renoir Castle, I can walk with you to get some ice cream after dinner and then we can walk up Waterview Street for a big surprise: The bicycle bridge turns into a rainbow at night! You will not believe it until you see it yourself.
Look at the picture above. That is me, Papa David, on the Rainbow Bicycle Bridge! You too will look like a magical princess when you are on the bridge at the top of Waterview Street. You will have sweet dreams when you return to Renoir Castle to go to sleep. We cannot wait until you come!
So says Papa David
